StudyIt ("we", "us", "our") operates the StudyIt mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address: When you sign up or sign in
• Display name: If provided during registration
• Authentication data: From Apple Sign In (Apple ID token)

Study Content

• Flashcards and decks: Content you create or import
• Documents and images: Materials you scan for flashcard generation
• Study progress: Review history and performance data

Device and Usage Information

• Device identifier: A hashed app-scoped ID (IDFV/Android ID) used for rate limiting (cannot track you across apps)
• Device type and OS version: For compatibility and troubleshooting
• App usage statistics: Anonymous data about feature usage
• Crash diagnostics (if enabled): Error and performance data to improve stability

Purchase Information

• Subscription status: Whether you have an active Pro subscription
• Purchase history: Managed by Apple and our payment processor

• Provide and improve the StudyIt service
• Process your subscription and payments
• Generate AI-powered flashcards from your content
• Sync your data across devices (when signed in)
• Send important service notifications
• Prevent abuse and enforce rate limits

• Local storage: Study content is stored locally in a sandboxed database on your device, protected by your device's built-in encryption
• Cloud storage: Account data is stored securely with encryption in transit and at rest
• Authentication tokens: Stored in your device's secure keychain

7. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Access

Request a copy of your data by emailing support@studyitapp.com with subject "Data Request".

Right to Delete

Delete your account and all data through Settings > Delete Account in the app, or email us with subject "Delete Account".

Right to Data Portability

Export your study data from Settings > Export Data in the app.

Right to Rectification

Update your account information in the app or contact us to correct inaccuracies.

Response Time

We will respond to data requests within 30 days.

California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt-out of data sales (we do not sell data). Contact us to exercise these rights.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): You have additional rights including the right to object to processing and lodge complaints with supervisory authorities.

8. Children's Privacy

StudyIt is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@studyitapp.com. We will delete such information promptly.

9. Device Identifiers

We generate a hashed device identifier based on app-scoped platform IDs (IDFV/Android ID). This identifier:

• Is used solely for rate limiting to prevent abuse
• Cannot be used to track you across other apps
• Is stored locally on your device
• Is not shared with advertisers

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of StudyIt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
